Annika Connor is a multidisciplinary artist, actor, screenwriter and creative entrepreneur whose work spans visual art, performance, comedy, acting, screenwriting, music and independent production. Most known for her vibrant watercolor and oil paintings, Connor's paintings are characterized by strong symbolism and vivid imagery that ignite the imagination. As a vocal activist and advocate for women’s rights, Annika Connor’s paintings often depict topics ranging from politics to beauty and nature, or explore issues of female identity and equality, containing rich metaphorical imagery. In the studio, Annika Connor uses beauty and allegory as a hook to lure the viewer's eye while depicting imagery that can be either narrative or slightly mysterious in nature. Apart from her work in the studio, Annika Connor is the creator of Annika’s Art Shop. Additionally, Connor is the founder of Silly Song Studios, an independent comedy entertainment and creative production company developing original projects across film, television, music, publishing and digital media. Connor holds a BFA in Painting and Performance from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is a SAG-AFTRA actor, New York SAG-AFTRA Board member, and serves the union on the Performers with Disabilities Committee, the New York Government and Public Affairs Committee and on the National AI Task Force and New Technology Committee. Annika Connor’s creative practice has developed across multiple disciplines, with visual art, performance, comedy and storytelling continually informing her work as a writer and filmmaker. Through Silly Song Studios, Connor is developing an original slate of comedic projects ranging from feature films and television to original songs and music videos, children's publishing and other forms of digital entertainment. The company is designed to allow ideas to move fluidly between mediums while building a collaborative network of performers, writers, filmmakers, musicians, artists, technicians and production resources. First and foremost, Annika Connor is always a painter. However, Silly Song Studios represents the next evolution of Connor's multidisciplinary creative practice: a dedicated home for original comedy and creator-driven entertainment.
