I make everything<br \/>\nperfect. I\u2019ve got the candles<br \/>\nset on the center of the table.<br \/>\nThere\u2019s a vase with white roses contrasting<br \/>\nwith a new red tablecloth. We\u2019ve got plates, mine<br \/>\nall black and yours all blue. There\u2019s crystal<br \/>\nwine glasses and we\u2019re sitting<br \/>\nnext to the purple lilac bushes. I\u2019ve got everything<br \/>\nperfect, and then I serve us photographs<br \/>\ninstead of food. I spoon them out of the casserole<br \/>\ndish, and I plop them onto the plates for us. You look<\/p>\n<p>at these pictures and you look, and I\u2019m sorry,<br \/>\nDarling, but I just wanted to share something<br \/>\nwith you; I just wanted someone<br \/>\nelse to know, but really, I\u2019m selfish<br \/>\nby forcing these images upon you, and you didn\u2019t want<br \/>\nthem and would\u2019ve never wanted them<br \/>\nanyway, I know.<br \/>\nLook at this<\/p>\n<p>romantic meal that I\u2019ve ruined. I ruined it<br \/>\nbecause that\u2019s what I do. I tried to tell<br \/>\nyou beforehand but you had work to do<br \/>\nand the wolves of time were lapping up the hours<br \/>\nand I was lying on the church floor trying to bleed my soul<br \/>\nclean. I should\u2019ve known then that these pictures were not<br \/>\nmeant to be shared. But I badly wanted<\/p>\n<p>to try. I wanted you<br \/>\nto know me. Know me the way I know<br \/>\nme. But I guess I should\u2019ve stayed in my den.<br \/>\nI guess the photo album should have remained<br \/>\nwedged under rocks underground. How<br \/>\ncould I have known?
